TALLAHASSEE, Fla — Florida State men’s tennis coach David Barron announced today the signing of Timo Volmer, a top junior from Germany.

Volmer has been at the Bradenton Tennis Academy for the past four years where he played No. 1 singles for coach Billy Stern. He came to Bradenton after a junior career in his home country of Germany where he was ranked No. 8 on the junior circuit.

“Timo is a fabulous player, and a top recruit, he will be able to make a big impact for us next year,” said Barron. “He’s a great all-around player who should have the opportunity to play both singles and doubles for us right away.”

Head Coach David Barron has now signed two recruits this spring and is looking to sign probably one more. In April, Barron signed a top recruit from Croatia, Dannie Faranulovic. Volmer and Faranulovic join a young Seminole squad that will consist of one senior, two juniors, and two sophomores next year.
