TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- The Florida State men’s tennis team (6-2) returns to the Scott Speicher Tennis Center after a week off to host the George Washington Colonials (4-2) at 10:00 a.m. and the College of Charleston Cougars (2-0) at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
“We are excited to get back this weekend after a week off,” redshirt junior Jose Gracia said. “We are fired up and will bring a lot of energy to the matches on Saturday.”
The Seminoles’ only all-time meeting with the College of Charleston was a 5-1 Florida State victory in Tallahassee in 2015. FSU is meeting George Washington for the first time.
“There’s a great opportunity this weekend to showcase the depth of our team and our ability to dominate on our home courts,” senior Jack Haffey said.
Last weekend, the Seminoles were off while sophomore Aziz Dougaz represented his native Tunisia in the Davis Cup, the world cup of tennis. Dougaz showed very well for his home country but fell in both matches to players representing top-seeded Sweden, both coming in five sets.
