Tulsa, Okla. – Sophomore Rana-Roop Singh Bhullar and redshirt senior Jose Gracia began play in the ITA All-American Qualifying on Monday.
After going 4-0 in pre-qualifying and advancing to qualifying Bhullar lost in the first round to Felix Corwin of Minnesota, 6-3, 6-4.
Gracia took on Ricky Hernandez Tong of New Mexico in the round of 128. Gracia captured the first set 6-4 but lost the ensuing two sets, 6-1, 6-3.
“The guys both battled hard, but came up a little short,” said head coach Dwayne Hultquist. “I am looking forward to them battling again on Tuesday.”
Bhullar and Gracia wrap up qualifying in the consolation bracket tomorrow. Gracia begins play in the main draw of doubles on Oct. 5 with partner Lucas Poullain. Poullain and senior Guy Iradukunda also begin singles play in the main draw on Oct. 5.
