TALLAHASSEE, FL — Seminoles Travis Minor and Jason Whitaker earned
Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week honors by a vote of the
league’s media for their performances in last week’s win over Texas A&M.
Minor, a sophomore from Baton Rouge, La., rushed for 146 yards and set a
single-game FSU record with 34 carries. He also contributed the Seminoles’
first touchdown from three yards out. It was his fourth career 100-yard
rushing game and second-highest rushing total.
Whitaker, a native of Panama City, Fla., paved the way for Minor’s 146
rushing yards. The junior offensive guard contributed five and a half
intimidation and played in each of FSU’s 83 offensive plays. Whitaker did
not allow a sack or pressure, did not committ a penalty and graded out at
an impressive 93 percent.
