Quirky Quiz
This section of Moe’s World is where I will interview one member of the softball program with some of the most random and unanswerable questions that I could think of. Hopefully you can think of some witty answers of your own and play along with us.

First Interview: Kayla Collins (freshman pitcher)
MOE: As a pitcher, do you think you can “zone out” and “be in the zone” at the same time?
KAYLA: Absolutely… I tend to zone out a lot, it’s true, but you have to zone in on your pitches. So it’s like, I’m zoning out so I can get in the zone. It’s hard.

MOE: Earlier in the year I talked you into shaving your arm hairs. So now seeing that you’ve had the best of both worlds, can you explain why arm hairs don’t get split ends?
KAYLA: Good question. Well, it’s probably because I’m not drying the hair on my arms with a blow-dryer. They dry naturally straight unlike the hairs on my head. But since I’ve decided to regrow the hair on my arms I’m against shaving. Though shaving probably would increase my arm speed?

MOE: Being as coordinated as you are, are you able to breathe through you nose and your mouth at the same time?
KAYLA: (laughing) No!… well, (seconds after attempting the task) Yes! I just did it. I think I hurt my rib a little bit with all that breathing.

MOE: Why do the numbers on the phone start at 1 and go to 9, but on a calculator go from 9 to 1?
KAYLA: They do? I have never noticed…

MOE: Now, I know that you are an animal lover, but can you tell me: If people get goosebumps, what do geese get?
KAYLA: Geesebumps!!! Everyone knows that.

MOE: Going back to childhood memories, everyone has heard of Captain Hook from Peter Pan, but can you tell us what is name was, before he got the hook?
KAYLA: Captain. I don’t know, his name was Captain. (laughing)… I so nailed that one! A special thanks to Kayla for playing along and being such a good sport!!!

LADY SEMINOLE COFFEE SHOP
This section is for you to see the artistic side of the Seminole Team. From poems, to comics, to creative pictures, to softball chants – you can find it at the Lady Seminole Coffee Shop!!!

Practice Blues
All that itchy grass and new cleat
Blisters are getting old as we finally
Clear the Pre-season hump. We are
Definitely ready for the first pitch,
Eager for the first spike to cross home,
For the first run to be put on the JoAnne
Graf scoreboard.

Holy crackerjacks! How `bout an
In-the-park homerun? We’re
Jam-packed full of all
Kinds of enthusiasm and
Love of the game. There’s been too
Much practice, practice, practice,
Not enough play, play, play! But now its

On with the last stretch, last second
Preparations in front of
Quiet stands. We’re almost
Ready for all those
Seminole war chants,
Tomahawk chops–fans

Under blankets for those first few
Victories. But enough with this
Wacky kick-off poem, its my senior
Year! To heck with this frenzy, its back to the
Zone!

Britt:     They are pond turtles, and it was my idea because I’m obsessed with turtles.

Moe:     So how did you decide to get the hamster and the rabbit?

Tif:        Moe, it was all Moe’s fault.

Moe:     When you’re not chillin’ in your crib and the softball field, where do you spend your time?

Britt:     Hum… I don’t even know.  I would have to say friend’s houses.

Tif:        Going to the pool hall with Moe!

Moe:     Why are you guys such good roommates?

Britt:     We don’t really have that much drama, we deal well with each others space.

Tif:        She stays out of my way (laughing). But really, we have a lot in common.

Special thanks to Brittany and Tiffany for letting me invade their space and being good sports!
