This section of Moe’s World is where I will interview one member of the softball program with some of the most random and unanswerable questions that I could think of. Hopefully you can think of some witty answers of your own and play along with us.
Third Interview: LaShaun Davis (Junior Outfielder)
MOE: First a random question! Why is it necessary to nail down the lid of a coffin?
LASHAUN: I don’t know, maybe cause, so like bugs don’t get in.
MOE: Playing in Florida, we get a lot of sun. But why does the sun lighten our hair, but darken our skin?
LASHAUN: O.K. it darkens our skin because there’s melanin is in our skin. And that’s the dark stuff, that like reacts and protects your skin from the sun. And it lightens your hair because I don’t know (laughing) that’s what it does.
MOE: Being one of our biggest girly-girls on the team, can you tell me why women can’t put mascara on with their mouth closed?
LASHAUN: Ooh, that’s a good question because my mouth is wide open when I put on mascara.
MOE: Why doesn’t glue stick to the inside of the bottle?
LASHAUN: Maybe because it’s like, you know glue sticks don’t work very well anyways, I guess maybe the glue’s like got a seal somewhere around it that protects it.
MOE: Being an athlete you should be able to tell us why is a boxing ring square?
LASHAUN: Probably because the have big, nasty square fingers and it’s the only thing that will fit on it!!! (A pause, then realizing that the question didn’t mean a ring for a finger). Oh, I thought you meant a boxer’s ring… Well, I guess the same reason the baseball diamond is in the shape it is. (then realizing that she has absolutely no idea what she is talking about). Oh well, you know what I mean.
MOE: Why is it that when you’re driving and looking for an address, you turn down the volume of the radio?
LASHAUN: Because people like me can’t multi-task like that, except for text messaging and driving, so I have to turn down the radio because I feel like I’m able to think more.
MOE: Why is the third hand on the watch called the second hand?
SHAUN: That’s the little tick, tick, tick thing. Because it’s like second in line of importance!
MOE: You are very fast, but can you tell me why there isn’t a special name for the top of your feet?
SHAUN: The top of your feet are like what? Nobody pays attention to them. Mine have veins in them, and their nothing special. (laughing) A special thanks to
LaShaun for playing along and being such a good sport!!!

LADY SEMINOLE COFFEE SHOP
This section is for you to see the artistic side of the Seminole Team. From poems, to comics, to creative pictures, to softball chants – you can find it at the Lady Seminole Coffee Shop!!!
This addition of MOE’s Coffee Shop is for the seniors. At the Golden Nole banquet, the softball team was the only varsity team to have all of the seniors on the squad to be recognized for their excellence (all other teams picked one). Tuesday, April 18th we will be recognizing them yet again at senior night. So come and support our seniors. So in honor of them and this time, I have created a link where you can click your favorite senior’s name (or all of them) and print out a coloring page. Have fun. Click a name to print a coloring page!!!
If you are lucky and color your page in time for the last home games, bring it to the field with you and have the seniors autograph them after the game!!!
This section is to show you the Seminole team’s MASH (mansion, apartment, shack, house). I will be visiting the homes of players, coaches and support staff members while taking photos and accumulating information about their living arrangements. This should be a fun way to see how college athletes live.
Crib # 3 :Carly Brieske (Senior Outfielder) & Moe Wood (Sophomore Catcher)
Location: Tallahassee, FL
Type of Crib: Townhouse
Bed: Three Bath: Three
Roommates: One Other, Megan Reilly (Junior, Marketing)
Q&A with Moe and Carly
Question: How long have you been living here in this townhouse?
Carly: Almost a year now.
Moe: Since school started this year.
Question: What made you pick this particular townhouse?
Carly: My boyfriend bought it, and I just love it.
Moe: I didn’t really pick it. I just told Carly I would live with her. Good thing it turned out o.k.
Question: What are some of your favorite things about this apartment?
Carly: It’s a cute little community, I’m downstairs away from Moe, and I just really like it.
Moe: I like how it’s very homey. It’s also conveniently located between Tharpe and North Monroe streets.
Question: Who are your roommates? Carly: My best friend Moe (with sarcasm) and Megan who I have roomed with a couple years before. Moe: Carly of course, and then Megan who is a junior and in the marketing program. So she deals a lot with sports. –
Question: What are the pros and cons of living with your teammate?
Carly: The pros are that she has a lot of good food that I can eat, her parents always sends us packaged gifts, and she always is ordering stuff off of Ebay. The cons are??? (She was speechless). Sometimes I can here her screaming on the phone in her bedroom, but really she’s a good roommate.
Moe: The pros are that she’s older, an outfielder, and mature. This makes it easy for me not to get sick of her. She also is the house cleaner, she does the dishes, takes out the trash, and vacuum’s the place. The cons are that she eats all my food, and sometimes she comes in my room and lays on my bed and wants to talk for all hours of the night. (Laughing) But really, she’s a good roommate.
Question: Is there any advise you’d give incoming freshman next year when they are picking an apartment?
Carly: Pick one you feel safe in and that it should feel like a home away from home.
Moe: Pick your roommates wisely. It’s always good to live with someone that is different than you, and that you don’t see all hours of the day. And don’t live in a dorm, it seems dreadful.
Here’s the photo gallery from the second edition of Cribs so Kayla, Melissa and Michelle don’t feel like we forgot about them.
