TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State football team practiced for 24 periods Monday afternoon in full pads. The first half of practice was spent working in position drills before concluding with 11-on-11 drills for the final 12 periods. FSU will return to practice on Tuesday before working again on Thursday and Saturday.
“We changed practice to Tuesday, Thursday this week instead of the normal Wednesday, Friday,” said head coach Bobby Bowden. “We’ll work in shells (shorts and shoulder pads) tomorrow. They’re hitting, hustling and attitude has been very impressive this spring and I have been very pleased to see that.”
B.J. Dean’s 15-yard touchdown run up the middle highlighted 11-on-11 drills for the offense, while Pat Watkins and Leroy Smith each returned interceptions for touchdowns for the defense. Alex Boston posted two tackles for loss and Clifton Dickson had one. Both Sam McGrew and Bryant McFadden had fumble recoveries on the afternoon.
The Seminoles will have one more week of spring practice after this one before concluding with the annual Garnet & Gold game on April 3rd.
