Senior Jacinta Monroe continues to pile up the awards, two days after being named First Team All-ACC, Monroe was named to the ACC All-Defense Team on Wednesday. It marked the second consecutive year that Monroe had earned the honor.
Monroe turned in her fourth-consecutive 60 block season as she swatted away 64 shots during the regular season for an average of 2.1 blocks per game. The 2.1 average has Monroe ranked No. 27 among the country’s top shot blockers.
The Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., native set the FSU single-season blocked shots record a year ago with her 84 blocks and also established the school career mark with her current total of 289. Monroe would become the sixth player in ACC history with 300 blocks if she tallies 11 more this season.
Monroe currently ranks sixth in ACC history in blocked shots with 289 and has steadily moved up the chart this season.
