In honor of National Student-Athlete Day, on Tuesday, April 6th, Florida State student-athletes volunteered in and around Tallahassee at a number of selected sites. National Student-Athlete Day is a day in which student-athletes are recognized for their service in their respective communities. Florida State Athletics proudly took part of this well-deserved National Day by giving back to the community that supports FSU Athletics. Student-Athletes from all of our 19 sports took part in giving back to the community by helping at a variety of agencies including, The Shelter, The Tallahassee Senior Center, Cobb Middle School and Bond Elementary, the Boys and Girls Club, and the juvenile detention center, just to name a few. As a way to celebrate and award those who participated in community service opportunities on this day, student-athletes received a “Chat and Snack” session with Athletic Director, Randy Spetman. At the “Chat and Snack” student-athletes had the chance to meet and chat with Mr. Spetman and talk about their community service experience on National Student-Athlete Day.
