TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association named four Florida State baseball players All-Americans, including half of the first team infield. Additionally, the organization ranked the Seminoles No. 4 in its preseason rankings.
Juniors Taylor Walls (shortstop) and Dylan Busby (first base) were both named to the first team, making up half of the infield. Sophomores Cal Raleigh (catcher) and Jackson Lueck (outfield) each made the third team.
Walls has been recognized as an All-American by four different organizations: NCBWA, Perfect Game, Collegiate Baseball and Baseball America. Busby was recognized by Collegiate Baseball and Baseball America.
For Raleigh, he was previously named a third team choice by Perfect Game. It is Lueck’s first preseason recognition.
Florida State’s four NCBWA All-America selections are the second-most in the country, trailing only consensus No. 1 TCU’s five.
In the rankings, Florida State ranks fourth, joined in the top five by No. 1 TCU, No. 2 Florida, No. 3 LSU and No. 5 South Carolina.
The Noles are the highest-ranked Atlantic Coast Conference team, followed by No. 8 Louisville, No. 10 NC State, No. 12 North Carolina, No. 13 Clemson, No. 18 Miami, No. 19 Virginia and No. 29 Georgia Tech.
