GREENSBORO, N.C. – Florida State volleyball earned its second weekly conference honor as sophomore Stephanie Neville was named the ACC Player of the Week on Monday, October 27. The honor is the first for the Cambridge, Ontario, Canada, native and she is the second Seminole to win this season as Brianna Barry was a co-winner on September 15.
The outside hitter led the Seminoles in back-to-back sweeps on the road against Virginia Tech and Virginia this past weekend. Neville recorded 12 kills and a team-high .375 attack percentage in the 3-0 win over the Hokies on Friday night before putting down 11 against the Cavaliers on Saturday. The two wins marked the first time since the 1998 season that FSU swept two ACC teams (3-0, 3-0) in the same weekend.
FSU is now 14-7 overall and 6-5 in the conference and will host Wake Forest this Friday and Duke on Sunday. The match with the Demon Deacons on Friday is at 7:00 p.m. and will be video streamed live on www.ACCSelect.com while Sunday’s action against the Blue Devils starts at 1:00 p.m.
