New Orleans Saints cornerback Patrick Robinson agrees with defensive coordinator Gregg Williams' criticism

New Orleans Saints cornerback Patrick Robinson wasn't surprised to hear the critical comments that defensive coordinator Gregg Williams made about him earlier Saturday. It's nothing he hasn't heard from Williams directly.
"I think, for myself, I've got to study more and stay in the playbook. That's the main thing for me," said the Saints' first-round draft pick, who struggled with his tackling and assignments in Thursday night's preseason opener at New England. "I think once I know the plays, I'll basically gain (Williams') trust."
Williams said earlier Saturday that Robinson has a lot of skill, but "doesn't know how to play" right now.
"Right now I don't have any trust in him," Williams said. "He has to take the next step up in pro football. He's had too much down time and he doesn't know how to take care of his body. Right now, he's my whipping boy."
Robinson said those criticisms are fair and constructive. And he feels the same way.
"That was my first game in the NFL. I've gotta look at what I did wrong. I've gotta put the film on, and I've gotta correct it," Robinson said.
