Tallahassee, Fla. – The top-seeded Duke Blue Devils downed the Florida State Seminoles 4-0 to advance to the finals of the 2001 Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Tennis Championship at the Lake Cane Tennis Center in Orlando, Fla. Florida State drops to 14-10 with the loss while the Blue Devils improve to 23-1 overall.
The Blue Devils captured the doubles point to head into the singles matches with a 1-0 lead with wins coming at the No. 1 and No. 3 position. In singles action, Duke recorded straight set victories at No. 1 by Ansley Cargill, No. 2 Amanda Johnson and No. 6 Prim Siripipat to clinch the match.
Top seeded Duke will face second seeded Wake Forest in the championship match which is set to begin at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 22.
