No. 1 Seminoles Begin Preparations For Duke

Sept. 27, 1999

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The No. 1 ranked Florida State Seminoles began
preparations for this Saturday’s game against the Duke Blue Devils with a
session of mat drills followed by an eight period practice on the soggy Ed
Williamson practice fields. Practice consisted of work on the kicking game
before moving on to corrections and team drills vs. the “Duke” scout team,
and ended with more conditioning.

“Well, we were set to go inside, but it’s awful hard to work on the
kicking game indoors.,” said head coach Bobby Bowden. “The rain let up, so
we were lucky enough to get some work outside. We had so many reminders
with Georgia, Miami, and others last weekend, that we have to worry about
complacency. It happens every Saturday.”

The highlights of a short Monday night practice were an
interception by DB Reggie Durden and a broken up pass courtesy of LB
Bradley Jennings.

Saturday’s game against the Blue Devils will take place at Alltel
Stadium in Jacksonville. Kickoff time is set for 12:00 p.m. The game will
be televised by Jefferson Pilot Sports.

Injury Report: No New Injuries.
