No. 1 Seminoles Set For Saturday’s Game

Sept. 23, 1999

TALLAHASSEE, FL — The No. 1 ranked Florida State Seminoles finished up
preparations for Saturday’s 3:30 p.m. contest vs. the North Carolina Tar
Heels with a 15-period practice in Doak Campbell Stadium. The Seminoles
began practice with work on the kicking game, before splitting up for
offensive and defensive work against the North Carolina scout teams.
Simulated crowd noise blared throughout the stadium for most of practice to
further prepare the Seminoles for Saturday’s matchup.

“I believe we had a good week of preparation this week,” said head coach
Bobby Bowden. “The thing now is to go up there and execute. We’ve had
some great practices this week. Last year’s loss to NC State was a great
learning experience, so I think that our guys are taking this thing
seriously.”

While most of the practice was spent working on details, TE Carver
Donaldson made the most notable play of the day with a diving endzone
catch.
