Oct. 18, 1999

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The No. 1 ranked Florida State Seminoles (7-0) began preparations for Saturday’s game vs. Clemson with a brief Monday night practice. The team began practice inside with a 15 minute session of mat drills before moving on to the Ed Williamson practice fields for eight periods of work under the lights. The outside practice began with work on the kicking game and concluded with work against the scout teams. It was also announced earlier today that outside linebacker Tommy Polley was named ACC Defensive Back of the Week.

“Tommy has real good instincts,” said head coach Bobby Bowden. “It’s almost like he smells a play coming and gets there. He’s also got that real good size.”

Injury Report: Split End Ron Dugans (bruised sternum and muscle sprain), Kicker Sebastian Janikowski (seperated rib), Rover Jean Jeune (knocked unconcious during practice)

Saturday’s kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. at Clemson. The game will be televised by ESPN.
