Tallahassee, FL – For those who thought that a Florida State/Florida Super Regional would only matter to those of us inside the Sunshine State, ESPN disagrees. The cable giant will show the all-Florida Super Regional opener Friday at 7:00 p.m. on the company’s flagship network. The Gainesville Super Regional will get the coveted prime time slot on opening night as one of four NCAA Super Regionals that get underway Friday.
This is the first ever meeting between the Gators and Seminoles in the NCAA Super Regionals as both teams fight to get back to the College World Series. The Seminoles last made the trip to Omaha in 2000 and the Gators in 1998.
More information on this weekend’s Gainesville Super Regional will be available on seminoles.com as soon as it is released.
