TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Florida State softball team held its first preseason intrasquad scrimmage of the season today at the Seminole Softball Complex. The Tribe was split into two teams by the coaches, and pitchers Casey Hunter and Amy Harrison started the game in the circle for their respective squads. Freshman Tiffany McDonald, who is back after an injury that sidelined her in the fall, also pitched.

Although it’s early, there was no sophomore slump apparent today by second team NFCA All-American Veronica Wootson. She crushed the ball and recorded a triple and double early in the game.

FSU will open the 2005 season with a doubleheader at Florida A&M February 9, 2005. Game times are projected to start at 5:00 and 7:00 p.m.

Tickets for the 2005 season are on sale now through the FSU Athletic Ticket Office.
