TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The No. 12/16 ranked Florida State men’s tennis team (12-1) is home for a doubleheader Saturday, Feb. 24 after not playing last week. The Seminoles are a combined 4-0 against this weekend’s opponents including a 3-0 record against New Orleans and a 1-0 record against Liberty.
“It is a little different for us this week because we have not played in two weeks,” said head coach Dwayne Hultquist. “We are back at it and have a doubleheader this weekend. We are anxious to get back out there and play two more matches and then prepare for the ACC season, which starts next weekend. This has been a good training block for us this past two weeks and I feel like we have made some strides in strength and conditioning.”
Florida State last took on New Orleans in 1984 and defeated them twice that season, 5-1 and 8-1. The Seminole have outscored the Privateers 21-3 in their three matches. Florida State’s lone match against Liberty was in 2016 when the Garnet and Gold took down the Flames 4-0 in Tallahassee.
