Florida State moved up to No. 12 in this week’s Collegiate Baseball poll despite going 1-2 against Miami this past weekend in Coral Gables. Junior shortstop Stephen Drew led FSU in the six-game series against the Hurricanes with four home runs, two doubles and 12 RBI while hitting .364. Wednesday’s game with UF wraps up a seven-game non-conference stretch. Florida won the first meeting of the year 7-6 in 11 innings. After Ryne Malone hit the go ahead home run in the top of the 11th, the Gators rallied behind three Seminole errors for two runs in the bottom half of the inning for the win. Florida State returns to ACC action this weeknd against Georgia Tech. Friday and Saturday’s games are set for a 7:00 p.m. start and will be televised live by Sunshine Network with Saturday’s game being the ACC’s Game of the Week. Sunday’s first pitch will be at 1:00 p.m. Sophomore Eddy Martinez-Esteve leads the Seminoles in batting average (.391), home runs (11), doubles (12) and RBI (43).

Florida is in its final game of a seven-game road swing. After being swept at home by Georgia, the Gators lost two games at South Carolina and rebounded to win two-of-thre at Mississipi State by scores of 2-11, 16-6 and 8-3 this past weekend. UF is led by junior C.J. Smith who is hitting .369 on the year with 11 home runs and 12 doubles. The junior also has 48 RBI with a .682 slugging percentage.
