TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The No. 14 Florida State Seminoles (8-3, 7-0 ACC) held a short 15-period practice Thursday afternoon as they wrapped up preparations for Saturday’s game at North Carolina State (9-3, 4-3 ACC). FSU will look to wrap up their claim for the ACC title against the Wolfpack. With the win, the Seminoles will finish with an 8-0 record in the ACC for the ninth time.
“We practiced about as good as we can,” said head coach Bobby Bowden. “I expect everyone to play unless something unexpected happens. I think Adrian (McPherson) will get better and better as he plays. The one thing we can’t teach him is experience. At least he has three games under his belt.”
Seminole quarterback Adrian McPherson leads the ACC with one touchdown pass every 11.3 pass attempts (12 TD’s, 135 Attempts). NC State quarterback Philip Rivers is 46 yards shy of becoming only the third quarterback in ACC history to throw for 3,000 yards twice.
Senior tailback Nick Maddox, who has rushed for over 100 yards in each of the last two games he has played, is listed as questionable with a sprained ankle. This will be Maddox’s last trip to his home state of North Carolina as a Seminole.
Saturday’s game at NC State is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start and will be televised regionally on ABC.
