TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The No. 16 Florida State softball team is looking to put an end to its three-game losing streak when it plays at Virginia Tech on Saturday.
The Seminoles (38-10, 8-4 Atlantic Coast Conference) take on the Hokies (16-27, 3-9) in a doubleheader that starts at noon before playing in the final contest of the three-game series on Sunday at noon.
FSU is coming off two defeats to No. 3 Florida on Wednesday and will be gunning for three more conference victories against Virginia Tech. The ‘Noles are currently in second place in the league behind 11-1 (conference) Georgia Tech.
“When you get to the end of the season — more so than ever — you have to take care of the ball and limit mistakes,” FSU head coach Lonni Alameda said. “We need to do that this weekend against Virginia Tech.
Florida State is 2-4 all-time in regular-season games at Virginia Tech and 8-10 in the series history against the Hokies. FSU took last season’s series in Tallahassee two games to one.
