South Alabama is a strong team with a good program,” FSU head coach Dwayne Hultquist said.  “They have a lot of international players with a lot of experience and we always know that we’re going to get a tough match.”

The Seminoles (5-2) come into the weekend riding a three match winning streak.  FSU defeated Notre Dame, Duke and
Oklahoma State last week and earned a birth into the ITA National Team Indoor Championships round of 16 with its victories over the Blue Devils and Cowboys.

“It’s always tougher on the road and I thought that we did a great job of practicing hard and getting used to the indoor courts,” Hultquist said.  “I’m glad now that we have one more match to prepare for the National Indoor Finals.”

The Garnet and Gold defeated
South Alabama (1-3) twice last season including a memorable 4-3 match in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.  The match came down to court two where sophomore Clint Bowles defeated the Jaguars’ Robert Hodel 7-5, 5-7, 6-1 to clinch the Seminoles win advancing them to the round of 16.  Florida State holds a 12-6 advantage over South Alabama all-time.

“I think we know that they have a good team and a lot of good players,” Hultquist said.  “We are always going to get a teams best effort when they come to play us.”
