TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The No. 17 Florida State softball team fell to 20-12
overall with a 1-0 loss to Purdue this evening at Lady Seminole Field.
With the win, Purdue improves to 8-10.
The Tribe managed just one hit — a bunt single to third in the seventh
inning by senior Misty Molin. Molin was sacrificed to second and reached
third on a wild pitch but was left stranded. Prior to the contest, FSU
had already beaten Purdue twice this season. FSU pitcher Jennifer White
allowed three hits, had two strikeouts and walked one in the seven-inning
effort. She falls to 15-7 overall.
The Tallahassee Democrat Florida State Invitational begins tomorrow
morning at 9 a.m. Twenty-four teams will battle this weekend with play at
two sites. The Invite will utilize Lady Seminole Field while action will
also take place on four fields at Messer Field. FSU will play Northern
Iowa at 1 p.m., LSU at 5 p.m., and Eastern Michigan at 7 p.m. All three
games will be played at Lady Seminole Field. A total of 35 games will be
