TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The No. 18 Florida State volleyball team will be in action for the second-straight weekend as the Seminoles will host Virginia Tech and Virginia on Friday and Sunday, respectively.

The match against the Hokies, which will be aired live online as part of All-Access, is slated for a 7 p.m. opening serve while the game against the Cavaliers begins at noon.

The Seminoles (10-1, 1-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) officially begin their conference schedule boasting an impressive No. 18 ranking in this week’s AVCA Division I Coaches Poll after moving up one spot from No. 19 the previous week.

The jump in the polls is due to the fact that FSU swept Miami and came from behind to defeat Notre Dame in five sets at last weekend’s Seminole Tri-Tournament. In addition to a No. 18 ranking, the Seminoles are ranked No. 2 in Rich Kern’s latest RKPI rankings because of their daunting out-of-conference schedule and terrific start to the year.

With wins over the Hurricanes and Fighting Irish, the ‘Noles have now won eight-straight; a streak of victories that is the most since the 2000 season. At 10-1, FSU is also off to its best start since the 1997 squad began the year a perfect 12-0.

Senior Brianna Barry and junior Taylor Wilson enter this weekend’s slate of games after their best match of the season against Notre Dame. In that thriller, Barry slammed a season-high 19 kills and Wilson achieved career-highs in digs (15) and assists (five) despite colliding with a teammate and injuring her left eye.

Following Sunday’s match against the Cavaliers, fans are encouraged to participate in a team autograph session in the Tully Gym lobby. Game prorgams and posters wil be available to collect signatures.
