TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The No. 19/20-ranked Florida State women’s basketball will look to reach 20 wins for the 11th time in school history against No. 14/17 North Carolina on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Donald L. Tucker Center.

As part of the ACC’s Regional Sports Network deal, the game will be televised live on FOX Sports Carolinas, FOX Sports South, SUN Sports, Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic, FOX Sports Tennessee, FOX Sports San Diego, FS Prime Ticket and ESPN3.

The Seminoles (19-5, 9-4 in the ACC) are coming off of a tough 76-69 loss to NC State in Tallahassee on Thursday. Despite shooting a season-low 37 percent and allowing the Wolfpack to become the first opponent to shoot above 50 percent this season (52.6 percent), FSU trailed by only 4 with 4:50 left in the game.

Senior guard Leonor Rodriguez had her second straight 20-point game (26 points) and junior forward Natasha Howard (16 points, 10 boards) recorded her ninth double-double of the season in the loss to NC State.

FSU will also be looking to snap a four-game losing streak to North Carolina (23-3, 11-2 in the ACC). In their last meeting on Jan. 31 in Chapel Hill, N.C., the Noles erased a 19-point first half deficit to take a 53-52 lead with nine minutes remaining, but the Tar Heels held on for a 72-62 victory.

Both FSU and UNC employ an uptempo style of play. The Tar Heels rank No. 7 in the nation in possessions per game and lead the country in steals.

“UNC is more of a high-risk, high-reward team, and they’re really good at it,” FSU head coach Sue Semrau said. “They love to get up and down. At the same time, they are really disciplined in their sets. They’re not the 14th-ranked team in the country for nothing. They’re a very good basketball team.”

Senior guard Morgan Toles has scored in double figures in three straight games and currently has the highest field goal percentage (.533) on any guard in league games.
