TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – The 19th-ranked Florida State Men’s Golf team prepares for the one-day Southern Intercollegiate on Monday, March 12. The tournament consists of two 18-hole rounds at Athens Country Club.
The golf course in Athens, Ga., is a par-72, 6,917-yard venue. FSU finished second in last year’s Southern Intercollegiate, shooting 9-under as a team. Redshirt senior Harry Ellis tied for 12th in the event last year, shooting a 2-under 142.
The participating teams include two Georgia teams (A and B), Arkansas, Charleston Southern, Chattanooga, Florida State, Francis Marion, Gardner Webb, High Point, Iowa, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Nicholls State, Savannah State, Stetson, USC Upstate, Western Carolina, Wofford and Youngstown State.
Competing for the Seminoles are junior Bennett Baker, Ellis, sophomore Jamie Li, freshman John Pak, sophomore Greyson Porter and freshman Parker Reddig.
Li and Pak recorded Top 10 finishes in Cabo earlier in the week, and Pak was recently added to the Fred Haskins Award Watch List.
FSU will tee off with a shot-gun start on Monday at 9 a.m., followed immediately by its second round of play.
