TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The No. 19-ranked Florida State softball team is set to play its second round of ACC play in Atlanta, Ga., against Georgia Tech on Saturday, March 28 at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 29 at 1:00 p.m. Both teams enter the weekend with 24 overall wins on the season and a 2-1 conference record.

Georgia Tech was projected to finished second in the ACC in the preseason coaches’ poll while FSU was slated to finish fifth. But in the past 57 meetings between the teams, the Seminoles have been victorious on 41 occasions.

The Yellow Jackets have received votes in both the USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 and the ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25 polls, but have yet to break into the rankings. Florida State has appeared in the Top 25 for the past four weeks, debuting at No. 25 in the ESPN.com poll on Feb. 24 before cracking the NFCA Top 25 at No. 25 on March 10.

Earlier this week, the Seminoles split a pick-up doubleheader (7-0, 3-5) at North Florida on Monday before defeating Florida A&M, 5-1, at home on Tuesday night. Inclement weather in Alabama cancelled another pair of pick-up games against Troy and Georgia State on Wednesday.

Bad weather may be an issue for the Noles and Jackets this weekend as the forecast calls for thunderstorms throughout Saturday in the Atlanta area. If Mother Nature cooperates, all games will be available on GameTracker live stats and internet radio at www.ramblinwreck.com with the second game on Saturday broadcasted online by ACC Select.
