# 2 FLORIDA STATE (31-7, 14-1 ACC)
Florida State, ranked No. 2 in the Baseball Weekly/ESPN Coaches Poll this week, is coming off a sweep of then-No. 8 Clemson over the weekend. FSU completed the home portion of the ACC schedule undefeated (12-0) for the first time in school history. Florida State leads the ACC with a 14-1 mark, well ahead of Georgia Tech (8-4) and Wake Forest (9-6) in the standings. The Seminoles have won 28 of their last 30 games and will travel to Miami this weekend after Wednesday’s game against Jacksonville. Head coach Mike Martin moved into 13th place all-time with his 1,163rd NCAA Division IA victory on Sunday. All-American John-Ford Griffin leads the ACC and is fifth nationally with a batting average of .475. FSU is eighth in the country with a team ERA of 3.01 and Justin Lord is tied for the national lead with nine saves. FSU is 28-2 in the friendly confines of Dick Howser Stadium this season.
JACKSONVILLE (22-12, 10-5 TAAC)
The Dolphins are 22-12 on the season after losing two-of-three to Florida Atlantic over the weekend. JU’s win over FAU on Friday night snapped a three-game losing streak. 2B B.J. Weed leads JU with a batting average of .386 while C Chad Oliva (.330, 9 HR, 37 RBI) and DH Scott Biernacki (9 HR, 37 RBI) are the team’s home run and RBI leaders. Senior RHP Josh Khoury (0-1, 16.20 ERA) will get the start on Wednesday.
The Seminoles lead the all-time series 86-29, dating back to 1964. FSU beat the Dolphins 12-6 in Jacksonville last year and 7-5 in Tallahassee last season. Florida State has won 16 straight over JU with the last Dolphin victory coming on April 20, 1994 by a score of 3-0 in Jacksonville. JU head coach Terry Alexander played at Florida State under Woody Woodward.
