No. 24 Lady Seminoles Complete First Day Of Competition At 2003 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships

AUBURN, Ala. –


The 24th-ranked Florida State women’s swimming and diving team completed the first day of competition at the 2003 NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships Thursday night in Auburn, Ala. The Lady Seminoles’ 200-free relay squad of sophomore Jennie Lyes, junior Emma Dutton, sophomore Emily Breen and junior Loren Hansen finished 16th with a time of 1:32.95. The finish earned FSU two team points and placed them 32nd at the end of Day One’s competition.


The Lady Seminoles’ had six competitors in individual events. Junior Andree-Anne LeRoy placed 27th in the 200-IM at 2:02.04. In the 50-yard freestyle, Dutton finished 27th (23.11), Lyes placed 51st (51st) and Breen 55th (23.51). Hansen touched the wall in 46th place in the 500-free at 4:54.09. Sophomore diver Tiffany Manning ended the day finishing 25th on the one-meter springboard. The relay team of Breen, Dutton, Hansen and Lyes placed 21st in the 400-medley.


Day Two will begin with preliminary heats at noon and will finish with championship finals beginning at 8 p.m.
