FULLERTON, Calif. –No. 24/25 Florida State wrapped up its stay at the Judi Garman Classic on Sunday with a 2-0 shutout over Texas. The win is the second over the Longhorns for the Seminoles this season as they improve to 20-8.

Junior ace Terese Gober picked up win number 13 this season as she gave up just three hits with one walks and the 10 K’s. The starting righty is now throwing a 1.05 ERA with 105 strikeouts on the year.

Leading things off in the bottom of the second for Florida State was Michelle Snyder whose nice RBI double up the middle scored fellow senior Jessica Gilmore from second.

The Noles would score again in the fourth thanks to another ball hit up the middle by freshman Shayla Jackson that would plate sophomore Kristie McConn and give the home team on the scoreboard a 2-0 advantage.

FSU managed to get on base in all innings but the fifth while Texas struggled to put runners in scoring position. In the end, Longhorn pitcher Brittany Barnhill gave up two earned runs on eight Seminoles hits with just three strikeouts while walking four.

Jackson led with two hits and an RBI while Snyder, Kaleigh Rafter, Carly Wynn, Allison Collins, Kristie McConn and Ashley Stager rounded out the hits with one apiece.

The Seminoles return to the east coast to host a doubleheader with Jacksonville on Wednesday, March 18, at 5:00 p.m. at JoAnne Graf Field.
