No. 31 Florida State men’s tennis team (9-5, 1-2 ACC) will host two ACC opponents this week beginning with Maryland (10-2, 2-1 ACC) on Wednesday, March 21 at 5:00 p.m. and Boston College (4-10, 0-3 ACC) on Friday, March 23 at 5:00 p.m. Dinner from Connies Hams & Roasters will be available to purchase on Friday evening at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center for 10 dollars per person.
Last time Florida State played ACC rival Maryland was March 25, 2006 at College Park, MD where the Seminoles defeated the Terps 6-1 only to fall in the number two singles position. Florida State took on Boston College the next day, March 26, 2006 with the same 6-1 decision over the Eagles in Chestnut Hill, MA.
Last weekend, the No. 31 Florida State men’s tennis team fought back in singles to upset the No. 17 Rice Owls 5-2. After a doubles point loss and a brief rain delay, the Seminoles improved the team’s overall season record to 9-5. This is the Seminoles eleventh straight win at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center after charging back to win five out of six singles matches.
In the ACC
Florida State currently stands in 6th place in the ACC with a 1-2 conference record. The Seminoles defeated their first ACC opponent Miami 5-2 on February 24 and later fell in two close matches to Clemson 4-3 on March 2 and Georgia Tech 4-3 on March 4.
