#5 FLORIDA STATE (27-7, 11-1 ACC)
Florida State, ranked No. 5 in Collegiate Baseball this week, is coming off a sweep of No. 24 Wake Forest after splitting a two game series with then No. 18 The Citadel. The Seminoles have won 24 of their last 26 games and are heading into their toughest stretch of the season. FSU slugged out a season best six doubles in Friday night’s game against Wake Forest, while starter Blair Varnes (5-1) had a career-high 13 strikeouts in eight innings of work. Karl Jernigan and Nick Rogers each hit their first home run of the season during the series to help lead the Tribe. Florida State currently has a strong hold of first place in the ACC with a conference record of 11-1. The Seminoles will play host to No. 8 Clemson this weekend in a three game home series to be televised on Sunshine Network.
