Raleigh, N.C. – The Florida State women’s tennis team dropped to 8-7 on the season and 1-4 in ACC play with a 5-2 loss to No. 50 NC State on Saturday, March 25, at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center on NC State’s campus.

The win marks the first time the team has had a victory over the Seminoles since 1998. NC State advances to 12-4 and 1-3 in league play.

The Wolfpack gained an early lead after securing the doubles point by winning two of the three matches. Junior Nicola Slater and Whitney Eber picked up on the only doubles win for the Seminoles at the No. 2 spot. They defeated Julia Roach and Shona Lee, 8-6.


After winning the doubles point, the Wolfpack would go on to collect four more in singles bouts. FSU won singles matches at Nos. 3 and 6. Slater, competing at No. 3 singles, defeated Chandrasekar 6-4, 6-2 and freshman Lisa Nystrom Skold overpowered Neils Barringer (6-4, 6-1).
