No. 7 Women’s Hoops Travels to Clemson

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – No. 7/7 Florida State Women’s Basketball (16-2, 4-1) and the Clemson Tigers (11-6, 0-4) face off for the 51st time in series history on Sunday afternoon at the newly renovated Littlejohn Coliseum in Clemson, S.C. FSU is 13-11 all-time at Clemson and leads the overall series 26-24.

Florida State is on the brink of making more history for itself. FSU enters Sunday’s contest with a 14-game winning streak against Clemson. A win over the Tigers would mark FSU’s longest win streak ever against an ACC opponent, eclipsing its previous record streak of 14 straight wins vs. Wake Forest from 2002-11.

The Seminoles’ 14-game win streak against Clemson includes winning every game by 10+ points or more. The streak began with an 80-54 victory in Tallahassee on Jan. 11, 2009.

Senior forward Ivey Slaughter will play in her sixth career game against Clemson. Over her career vs. the Tigers she is averaging 12.6 points, 8.6 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game. Slaughter is shooting 22-of-47 (46.8 percent) overall vs. Clemson.

Brown’s stat-stuffing performance included 12 points, 11 rebounds (sixth career double-double), seven assists and six steals.

Florida State continues to excel in some of the most important categories nationally. FSU ranks in the Top 10 nationwide in free throws made (6th – 272), scoring margin (7th – +25.0), rebound margin (8th – +11.4) and free throw attempts (9th – 377).

In last year’s 85-40 win at Clemson on Jan. 14, 2016, FSU finished 25-of-29 (82.6 percent) from the free throw line and was paced by Ivey Slaughter’s 18 points. The Noles generated some good offense in that matchup, shooting 50.9 percent from the floor.
