TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – No. 9 Florida State concluded preparations for Saturday’s Atlantic Coast Conference game at Maryland with a 15-period workout in shorts on Thursday afternoon at Ed Williamson Practice Fields on the Florida State practice.

“We had a nice practice today,” said FSU head coach Bobby Bowden. “The weather really cooperated with us today. It seems like this was the first time in a while that we have seen the sun.”

The Seminoles worked on special teams at the beginning of practice then walked through their game plan. Bowden announced that sophomore tailback Jeff Chaney would start on Saturday.

“I don’t think that (Travis) Minor will be ready and (Dee) Feaster is also banged up so we will go with Chaney,” said Bowden.

Kickoff for Saturday’s game is set for 1:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast on Sunshine Pay-per-View.
