TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State soccer team will travel south this weekend to play the Florida Gators during a Sunday, April 3rd exhibition match at 2 p.m. held at the Viera Soccer Complex in Melbourne, Fla. Three members of the Seminole team will be playing in front of their hometown crowd as Kristen Grubka are all natives of the Melbourne area.
The Seminoles have had a productive spring so far having played three matches. The Seminoles began their spring season with a 3-0 shutout victory over the South Carolina Gamecocks followed by a scoreless 0-0 tie against Georgia Bulldogs during a Feb. 26 double-header played in Athens, Ga. Both matches were played for sixty minutes.
The Seminoles most recent match was against the Atlanta Beat of the Women’s Professional Soccer League as FSU fell 1-0 in a competitive 90-minute game played at Columbus State University’s Walden Soccer Complex. Former Seminole great India Trotter is a current member of the Beat.
Following the Florida match the Seminoles will play its last match of the spring season against the LSU Tigers on Saturday, April 9th in Orange Beach, Ala.
