Florida State, which has won four of its last five games, travels to play at Miami in its final game
of the regular season on Saturday March 6 at 12 Noon at the BankUnited Center in Coral Gables,
The Seminoles enter their game against the Hurricanes with a 21-8 overall record and a 9-6
mark in the ACC – the second consecutive season they have won at least 21 regular season games
and at least nine conference games.
With their 9-6 mark in conference play, the Seminoles can
finish in as high as third place in the ACC standings with a win over the Hurricanes and a loss by
Clemson in the Tigers’ final regular season game against Wake Forest this weekend.
After being picked to finish seventh in the ACC by the attending media at ACC Operation Basketball in
October, the Seminoles can finish in no lower than fifth place in the league standings. Florida
State arrives in Coral Gables with four wins in its last five games, a 5-3 record since the beginning
of February and an 8-4 record since defeating Virginia Tech on Jan. 16. The Seminoles were 5-5
in league play heading into their game against Boston College on Feb. 14 (62-47 Florida State
victory) and have won four of their last five to improve to 9-6. Florida State is 46-18 (.718
winning percentage) overall and 19-11 (.633) in the ACC in the last two seasons. Following
Saturday’s game against Miami, the Seminoles will travel to play at the 57th Annual Atlantic Coast
Conference Tournament March 11-14 against a yet to be determined opponent. The Seminoles
entered the event as the No. 4 seed last season and played in the ACC Tournament championship
game for the first time in school history.
