TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –
After taking the Seminole Classic with a pair of wins over Auburn and Missouri the Florida State women’s basketball team will head to Bloomington, Ind. to face Indiana Thursday in the annual Big Ten/ACC Challenge.
The Seminoles are looking to move to 7-0 to start a season for the first time since 2004- 05.
The Seminoles and Hoosiers met two years ago in the event when FSU claimed an 85-78 victory in Assembly Hall as only three current Seminoles took part in the game.
Jacinta Monroe poured in 12 points with six boards, while fellow starters Angel Gray and Courtney Ward tallied only four and two points, respectively. Indiana senior Jamie Braun tallied a double-double in the loss with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Florida State is 2-0 all time in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge with wins over Indiana in 2007 and Penn State in 2008. The ACC has captured both previous challenges with a 7-4 mark a year ago and an 8-3 record in 2007.
The Hoosiers enter Thursday night’s contest with a 4-2 overall record with narrow losses against Virginia (84-79) and Missouri (76-71).
Jori Davis (5-9, G, Jr.) leads the Indiana attack with 17.0 ppg this season, while Jamie Braun (5-8, G, Sr.) and Hope Elam (6-1, F, Jr.) are also averaging double fi gures.
The two Hoosier losses are to opponents that both appear on the Florida State docket this year. Missouri knocked off Indiana by fi ve in Bloomington on Nov. 22 before Virginia held off a late charge by the Hoosiers at the Junkanoo Jam over Thanksgiving. The Seminoles took down Missouri 73-66 on Sunday.
Indiana was picked 9th in both the Big Ten Coaches and Media Poll.

Florida State junior Christian Hunnicutt admitted she was a little concerned during the pre-game shootaround, when nothing seemed to be falling. Her scoring touch returned when the Seminoles needed it most. Hunnicutt scored 10 of the No. 12 Seminoles’ 16 points during a late run, leading them to a 73-66 comeback victory over Missouri on Sunday at the Seminole Classic.

The Seminoles return home to take on Alcorn State this Sunday, Dec. 6 in the second game of a basketball double-header as the men entertain FIU at 1 p.m.
Alcorn State is 0-3 on the year and will take on Southern Miss on Friday before making the trek to Tallahassee.
