TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams are headed to Atlanta this weekend to take part in the three-day Georgia Tech Fall Invitational. In addition to the Yellow Jackets the Seminoles will face off against intra-state rival Florida, ACC foes Clemson and NC State, as well as Florida International and Gardner-Webb.
“We’ve been practicing and competing hard for three months now,” said Head Coach Neil Harper. “I’m excited to see how we respond to a three day prelims and finals meet with great competition!”
“This meet will be great practice for the ACC Championships and NCAA Championships this winter,” added Assistant Coach Katy Peterson.
The meet begins this Friday at 10:00 a.m. with preliminary races in the 200 free, 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free, women’s one meter dive, men’s three meter dive and the 400 yard medley. The finals for Day One’s events will begin at 6:00 p.m.
Saturday’s event lineup includes the 200 yard medley relay, 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back, women’s three meter dive, men’s one meter dive and the 800 yard freestyle relay. Saturday’s preliminary races will begin at 10:00 a.m. and the finals will begin at 6:00 p.m.
The third and final day of the meet will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the finals of the 1650 free, followed by preliminary races in the 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, platform dive and 400 yard freestyle relay.
