The ACC Offensive Player of the Year award is the second for the Seminoles in the last three years as McCarty joins Mami Yamaguchi, who was honored by the league in 2007. McCarty, who was named ACC Freshman of the Year a season ago, joins exclusive company becoming just the sixth player in conference history to earn both Freshman of the Year and Player of the Year accolades. She is just the second player in the ACC to win Player of the Year honors a year after being named Freshman of the Year (Lindsay Tarpley, North Carolina, 2002-03).
Edwards was named to the All-ACC first team in 2009. The Downingtown, Pa., native has started every game for FSU in 2009 and is in the midst of a career season in her final year with the Seminoles. The senior holding midfielder ranks third on the team in points with 16 tallying five goals and six assists.
