TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The No. 19/20-ranked Florida State women’s basketball team will host NC State for its annual “Paint it Pink” game on Thursday at 7 p.m.

The game will air live on ESPN3.com.

The Seminoles came back from a 12-point second-half deficit to defeat the Wolfpack on Jan. 20, 82-74, behind 21 points from senior guard Leo Rodriguez and 19 points from classmate Alexa Deluzio.

The Noles were down 63-51 with 9:24 left in the game, but outscored the Wolfpack, 31-11, the rest of the game.

Florida State, the ACC’s leader in scoring (80.1 points per game) and field goal percentage (.482), will be looking to reach 20 wins for the 11th time in school history and the seventh time under head coach Sue Semrau.

In their last game, the Seminoles routed Miami, 93-78, in Coral Gables, as six players reached double figures in scoring, including junior guard Cheetah Delgado (14 points) and redshirt sophomore forward Lauren Coleman (11 points) who both recorded career highs in points and minutes, stepping up with senior posts Chasity Clayton and Chelsea Davis out against the Hurricanes.

“That’s really been a luxury for our offense this year – knowing that different people can step up in any given situation,” Semrau said. “I think that’s why we are the highest scoring team in the ACC. You’ve got a lot of different players that can step in at any given time and it’s a lot of fun to play in this system.”

NC State is led by Marrissa Kastanek (13.3 ppg) and Kody Burke (14.0 ppg), and crushed Clemson, 79-45, in its last game on Sunday.

“They’ve won four of their last five games,” Semrau said. “They’re a very solid team. It took a huge second half comeback for us to beat them up at NC State. We’ve got to be prepared.”

The contest marks FSU’s fourth annual “Pain it Pink” game. The team will don pink uniforms, pink socks and pink shoes to raise awareness for breast cancer research and early detection.

Fans who donate $10 or more will receive a commemorative T-shirt in appreciation for their generosity.

The proceeds from each pink event will be donated to the Sharon Ewing Walker Breast Health Center at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare.

Youth Day on Sunday
