Noles In The NFL: Week 9

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Antonio Cromartie, Lawrence Timmons and Anquan Boldin are among the Seminoles who had big days in Week 9 of the NFL season.

Cromartie grabbed his third interception in two weeks for the red-hot Cardinals, Timmons led Pittsburgh past Baltimore with 11 tackles and Boldin had a 27-yard touchdown catch.

Tonight’s Monday-night matchup features a clash of former Seminoles, as Bjoern Werner’s Colts visit Preston Parker’s Giants.

Here’s how the rest of the Noles in the NFL fared in Week 9.

NEW ENGLAND 43, DENVER 21

Broncos: CB Tony Carter played but did not record any statistics.

Patriots: C Bryan Stork started.

PITTSBURGH 43, BALTIMORE 21

Ravens: DT Timmy Jernigan made two tackles. DB Terrence Brooks was inactive.

Steelers: LB Lawrence Timmons started and recorded a game-high 11 tackles, a sack and two QB hurries. LB Vince Williams had a tackle on special teams.

CINCINNATI 33, JACKSONVILLE 23

Jaguars: LB Telvin Smith started and record seven tackles. LB Geno Hayes had two tackles. LB Dekoda Watson was inactive.

CLEVELAND 22, TAMPA BAY 17

Browns: WR Rodney Smith was inactive.

KANSAS CITY 24, NEW YORK JETS 10

Chiefs: C Rodney Hudson started.

SEATTLE 30, OAKLAND 24

Raiders: RT Menelik Watson started and recovered a fumble.

MINNESOTA 29, WASHINGTON 26

Vikings: CB Xavier Rhodes started, made three tackles and defended a pass. QB Christian Ponder did not play.

NEW ORLEANS 28, CAROLINA 10

Panthers: WR Kelvin Benjamin started and had two catches for 18 yards.

Saints: NT Brodrick Bunkley started but did not record any statistics. CB Patrick Robinson had two tackles (one on special teams) and two passes defended.

 ARIZONA 28, DALLAS 17

Cardinals: CB Antonio Cromartie started and had an interception, his third in two weeks. He also made three tackles.

ST. LOUIS 13, SAN FRANCISCO 10

49ers: WR ANQUAN BOLDIN started, had game-highs in catches (six) and receiving yards (93) and caught a 27-yard touchdown pass. LB NICK MOODY recorded two tackles. DE TANK CARRADINE was inactive.

Rams: CB Lamarcus Joyner had five tackles and a pass defended.

INDIANAPOLIS at NEW YORK GIANTS

Colts: LB Bjoern Werner recorded four tackles and two tackles for loss while making his ninth straight start.

Giants: WR Preston Parker caught one pass for seven yards.

BYE WEEKS – TENNESSEE, CHICAGO, GREEN BAY, ATLANTA, BUFFALO

Titans: RB/KR Leon Washington has four rushes for 32 yards, nine catches for 65 yards and 15 kick returns for 333 yards. LB Kamerion Wimbley has 21 tackles and two sacks.

Bears: LB Christian Jones has started two games and recorded 18 tackles.

Packers: DT Letroy Guion has started all eight games and has 15 tackles, 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble.

Falcons: RB Devonta Freeman has run for 103 yards on 26 carries and added another 153 yards on 20 receptions. He caught his first touchdown last week. RB Antone Smith has 141 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 19 carries. He’s also caught 12 passes for 219 yards and three touchdowns.

Bills: LB Nigel Bradham has started six games and recorded 52 tackles, already eclipsing his tackle total from last year. He also has 1.5 sacks, an interception, a sack and a pass defended.  In four starts, QB EJ Manuel has completed 58 percent of his passes for 838 yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions.
