Lim Named ACC Co-Player of the Week

Senior Rachel Lim was named as the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week, sharing the award with Virginia forward Meghan Lenczyk. Lim was also announced to the Top Drawer Soccer Women’s Team of the Week.

Lim was instrumental in Florida State’s wins over ranked opponents Wake Forest and Duke, which moved the ninth-ranked Seminoles into sole possession of first place in the ACC conference standings.

Lim’s fantastic week began by scoring the team’s second golden goal of the year during the overtime 1-0 victory over No. 19 Wake Forest on Thursday.

Lim followed her golden goal performance against Wake Forest by scoring the game-tying goal against No. 16 Duke on Sunday as the Seminoles carried the momentum from Lim’s goal to take a 3-1 victory over the Blue Devils.

Overall Lim leads the team in game winning assists with three and is third on the team with seven points from two goals and three assists.

Wys Named As CollegeSoccer360 National Primetime Performer of the Week

Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Kelsey Wys has been named by CollegeSoccer360 as a Primetime Player of the Week for Division I women’s soccer. Wys is joined by 14 other players in comprising the CS360 week-7 Primetime Performers of the Week.

Wys had an impressive week in defeating nationally ranked conference rivals Wake Forest and Duke. In those two games Wys totaled 18 saves, as the only goal she allowed came by an own-goal that occurred early in the Duke game. From the point forward Wys game was flawless as she prevented 14 consecutive shots-on-goal as Florida State scored three consecutive goals to defeat the Blue Devils. Wys’s 15 total stops against Duke set the ACC season high mark for saves in a game.

The shutout victory over Wake Forest was Wys’s seventh shutout of the season, which ranks as the most in the ACC. On the season Wys leads the ACC in save percentage (.881%), second in saves and saves per game (52 and 4.73) respectively and leads the ACC with seven shutouts and shutouts per game (0.64%). Wys also ranks third in the ACC for goals against average (0.63).

During ACC play, Wys currently resides in first place for goals against average (0.33), save percentage (.955%), and in ACC shutouts with two. Wys is also second place in saves with 21. For all her efforts, FSU leads the ACC not only in wins, but in goals allowed with only seven opponent’s goals scored through eleven games this season.

Krikorian Hits Milestone

Head Coach Mark Krikorian won his 100th and 101st games at Florida State this past week with the Seminoles victories over Wake Forest and Duke. Overall Krikorian is 101-24-12 at Florida State, including an outstanding 58-6-2 record at home.
