Noles Ranked 14th in NCBWA Preseason Poll

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Florida State baseball team garnered its fifth top 25 preseason ranking on Tuesday when it was ranked 14th by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.The Seminoles also drew top 25 rankings in the Collegiate Baseball (16th), Baseball America (17th), D1Baseball.com (20th) and Perfect Game (20th) polls as well.

Florida State was one of six Atlantic Coast Conference schools along with Louisville (2nd), Miami (6th), Virginia (8th), NC State (20th) and North Carolina (21st). The ACC drew the second-most teams of any league, trailing only the Southeastern Conference.

Florida State, which has laid claim to the ACC regular season title or finished with the best record in the league in 19 of the last 25 seasons, begins the 2016 season in search of an unprecedented 69th consecutive winning season.

The Seminoles are looking to repeat its 2015 ACC Tournament Championship and at the same time capture its ninth ACC Atlantic Division crown since the 2007 campaign when the team’s first official practice begins on Friday, Jan. 29.

The 2016 season begins on Friday, Feb. 19 when the Seminoles host Rhode Island for the first of a three-game set that is slated to begin at 4 p.m.
