TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The No. 17 Florida State women’s tennis team will begin their spring season on Saturday, Jan. 21 when they will host UCF at 12 p.m. at the Indoor Tennis Facility.
“Everyone is very excited about our first competition this weekend against UCF,” Head Coach Jennifer Hyde said. “The girls have put in a couple of very solid weeks of practice and we’ve spent some time focusing on the goals that we have and where we want to go this year. This is the first step towards all of that.”
This event marks the first time the Seminoles will open their spring season against the Knights as well as in the Indoor Tennis Facility. On the contrary, the Noles are familiar with their opponent, as they’ve matched up with UCF in two different tournaments during this past fall season.
On another note, the Seminoles have posted a 6-0 dual match record against the Knights since the start of the 2002 season. UCF has already started their season, as they hosted the UCF Invitational with featured No. 46 Texas Tech and Rice.
“We’re looking forward to competing up against people other than ourselves,” Hyde added. “That’s always the case for this time of year.”
