TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – For the first time ever, Florida State will hosts the men’s tennis USTA/ITA Southeast Regionals this fall. The tournament will feature singles and doubles play with the champions automatically qualifying for the ITA National Indoor Championships. Play will run from Thursday, October 18 through Monday, October 22 at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center and Indoor Tennis Facility.
“We feel honored to have the opportunity to host the tournament,” said head coach Dwayne Hultquist. “It’s a good opportunity to showcase our facilities and Tallahassee. As the qualifier for national indoors, it’s one of the bigger tournaments in the country.”
The No. 30 Florida State Seminoles join top teams in the region including No. 2 Georgia, No. 11 Florida, No. 51 South Florida, No. 60 Georgia State, No. 62 Georgia Tech, No. 64 North Florida and No. 68 Miami. “There are 12 regions in the country and I feel like our region may be one of the strongest with Georgia, Florida, Georgia Tech, Miami and South Florida all being strong programs,” said Hultquist. “It gives our guys a good opportunity to play on their home courts. It also gives Tallahassee a great chance to see some good tennis.”

Over 8,000 student-athletes from the NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, Junior and Community Colleges compete at one of the 88 USTA/ITA Regional Championships held across the country.
