TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) – Florida State receiver and Heisman hopeful Peter
Warrick will not play Saturday against Miami because of his involvement in an
alleged department store theft, university president Sandy D’Alemberte said
today.

Receiver Laveranues Coles also will sit out the game, D’Alemberte told
CBS-affiliate WCTV in Tallahassee. Both players, who are also roommates, are
under investigation by police in connection with alleged thefts from a
Dillard’s department store.

Coach Bobby Bowden had announced Wednesday that Coles would not play
Saturday.

A news conference was planned later today about the investigation.
