TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State women’s tennis team (6-1) heads to Coral Gables, Fla. to take on the No. 21 Miami Hurricanes (1-2) at 10:00 a.m. and the Florida Atlantic Owls (4-2) at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center. The Seminoles enter the match at 6-1, their best record to open a season since 2013. Florida State has won five straight matches and have not dropped a match in nearly a month.
The Noles are led by junior Gabriella Castaneda, who controls court one with a 3-1 record, and sophomore Julia Mikulski, who holds a 3-1 record on court two.
The Seminoles feature five freshmen on the roster, and freshman Nandini Das leads the team in wins with a 5-0 record so far this season. Freshman Andrea Garcia is second on the team with a 4-1 record.
Last week against Florida A&M, freshman Gabrielle Goldin clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-0 victory on court six in her first career appearance as a Seminole.
