On The Practice Range With Matilda Castren

Matilda Castren, who enjoyed one of the top freshman seasons in school history in 2014, took a break from her studies and visited with seminoles.com on the practice range of the Don Veller Seminole Golf Course.  She spoke of her favorite musical performer (Rihanna), her favorite colors (garnet and gold) and her greatest sports moment (an ice hockey victory for Finland) as she looks forward to another stellar season in 2015.

On The Practice Range With Matilda Castren

If I could have a walk up song before I teed off it would be Hall of Fame by The Script.

My favorite musical performer is Rihanna.

My dream vacation spot is Santorini, Greece.

My best friend on another collegiate golf team is Anne Hakula of the University of Texas..

The best moment I’ve had on a golf course in my career has been winning the Doral Publix in 2010.

The best shot I have ever hit on a golf course was when I holed perfect shot out of the bunker in the Dixie Amateur in 2012.

The best concert I have ever been to is Rihanna.

My favorite website is seminoles.com.

My favorite motivational quote is “A champion isn’t about how much they win; it’s about how they recover from their downs.”

My favorite class at Florida State so far has been race and ethnicity during the fall of my freshman season.

My favorite colors are garnet & gold.

My favorite movies are all of the movies in the Batman series.

The reality show I could win is The Big Break.

The best thing about being a Florida State golfer is having the privilege to use the amazing practice facilities.

I think one of the greatest sports moments was when Finland beat Sweden 6-1 in the Ice Hockey World Championships in 2011.

The last concert I went to was Rihanna.
